Ordering

Which size do I need?

6mm for iced coffee, soft drinks, water and cocktails. 8mm for smoothies, milkshakes and frappes. 12mm slant-cut for boba, bubble tea and slushies; it pierces sealed lids cleanly. Not sure? Get free samples for your venue and try them in your own drinks.

What is the minimum order?

500 straws for 6mm and 8mm, and 300 for 12mm. Online tiers go up to 5,000 per size, and the price per straw drops as you order more. See every tier on our trade pricing page.

Need a custom specification or volume?

We quote for orders above 5,000, recurring monthly supply, pallet volumes and specifications not listed on the site. Pallet volumes are made to order, with a lead time of around 10 to 16 weeks, and plain unbranded packing is available at pallet volume. Tell us what you need and we'll come back with a quote.

Packing and specifications

What are the straw specifications?

All three sizes are 210mm long and made from a plant-based sugarcane fibre (bagasse) blend.

6mm diameter for cocktails, soft drinks and iced coffee. 250 straws per pack; pack size 240 × 212 × 35mm, 200g.
8mm diameter for smoothies, milkshakes and frappes. 250 straws per pack; pack size 255 × 212 × 70mm, 320g.
12mm diameter for boba, bubble tea and slushies, with a slant-cut tip and each straw individually paper-wrapped. 100 straws per pack; pack size 250 × 240 × 70mm, 290g.

How are the straws packed?

6mm and 8mm straws come in DP Eco-Collective® branded packs of 250. 12mm straws are individually paper-wrapped and come in branded packs of 100. A 1,000 order of 6mm, for example, arrives as four packs of 250.

Compostability and safety

Are the straws compostable?

Yes. They are certified compostable to EN 13432, ASTM D6400 and AS 4736. These standards apply to commercial composting facilities, so the straws are not suitable for home composting. Check with your waste contractor how compostable packaging is collected at your venue.

Do they contain PFAS?

They are BPI certified to contain no intentionally added PFAS, the so-called forever chemicals reported in some paper straws.

What are they made from?

A plant-based blend made with bagasse, the fibre left over after sugarcane is harvested. They have a neutral taste, no odour and hold their shape for the whole drink.

Delivery, VAT and returns

How much is delivery and how quickly will it arrive?

UK delivery is free on every order, with no minimum spend. Order before 4pm for next working day dispatch on in-stock items. Express delivery is available at checkout for £7.99.

Do your prices include VAT? Can I get a VAT invoice?

We show every price both ex VAT and inc VAT, and VAT is charged at checkout at the standard UK rate. DP Eco-Collective Ltd is VAT registered (GB523781094). If you need a full VAT invoice with your company details, send us a message with your order number.

What if something is wrong with my order?

Tell us straight away and we'll put it right. You deal directly with the founder, so issues are handled personally. Our refund policy has the full details.
